Busy Blessings?

Well well well…. it sure has been a while! I have been MIA in the blogging world for the past month, and whoa did that month fly by! We had a great Christmas, a Happy New Years, lots of laughs, lots of cakes, lots of signs made and I blinked…then what do ya know, its Happy Valentines Day (well close enough).

I don’t know about you but sometimes I wish things would just slow down a bit, relax, let me take the moments in without having to scramble to remember everything that is going on, go to this meeting, make this, bake that, oh and don’t forget you have a one year old and a hubby to hang out with, sing at this church service, practice here, drive there…..plan, plan, plan… only to remember I forgot something that was planned! Am I alone on this one, or are there others that feel this way?

I have been challenging myself to look at my busy life as a blessing, not a busy mess. I am blessed. I am blessed. I am blessed…say that with me…I am blessed. Now breath in, breath out and take in the blessed life you live in. Why are you busy? Work, kids, family, life situations? You are blessed with work, you are blessed with kids, you are blessed with family, you are blessed to be alive. The way you look at your situation can completely change how you feel about that situation. My high school principle used to come on the over head intercom every morning….9:30 sharp… and say some daily announcements. At the end of those announcements, he would always say the same quote “You can make it a great day or not, the choice is yours”. So what’s your choice today? Be surrounded by the busyness of life in fear, stress, worry or choose to enjoy that busy…. those kids wont be kids forever, that family wont be here forever, that work will soon pass when your too old to work. This post is mostly for me haha a little reminder to enjoy this life God has blessed us with!

So with that being said, I am going to hold a giveaway!!! Yeah! Everyone loves free stuff! I know I do, lol. So in honor of it being Superbowl Sunday, a beautiful (but windy) day out, my dog sitting at my feet, my baby sleeping… I am going to be giving away a custom sign! You choose the print on the sign and the look and I’ll do the rest! To enter this little giveaway, just comment below with your favorite Superbowl activity. Is it getting together with friends, watching at your house alone, or hitting up the library on the quietest day of the year? Make sure you share this post with your friends to enter as well!

… and remember, you can make it a great day or not, the choice is yours… Choose wisely…

I love “watching” the Superbowl with friends and family! The guys all on the couch shouting at the TV. The women elsewhere chatting and looking at the TV occasionally (usually commercials). Not to be sexist, I love sports and usually record the Superbowl and watch it later because I don’t watch it at the party. I enjoy the food and fun with people who are important in

As much as I love this event every year, I might end up spending it in the hospital depending on when this baby shows up. 🙂 She is due on Monday. I am still hoping we wouldn’t spend Sunday in the hospital, but know whenever she comes will be a wonderful day.

Great post Lindsay! It encouraged me to enjoy the smallest of moments 🙂 I miss you!

My favorite thing about the superbowl is the food because I dont actually like football…at all. Particularly chips and dip. Superbowl parties usually mean a variety of chips and dip will be provided 🙂
